Mod About Sprinkles

So the plain colour on my nails lasted all of 30 minutes before I had to add some sparkle to it.  I used OPI - Save me over top of the OPI Mod about you.  I think it looks like sprinkles on a pretty pink cupcake.  I also love cupcakes, so it was a win all around.  The pictures don't quite show how sparkly this one can be.

Opi Mod About You

I kept seeing this colour on different blogs and I just had to try it for myself.  I really like it and highly recommend it.  On lighter skin it looks like almost a nude colour but on my darker skin you can easily tell that it's a light creamy pink.  I think the best description of the colour is cotton candy.  This one will be a staple through the summer for sure!

Double Bogie

Another one of the China Glaze polishes I bought ... China Glaze - Bogie.  Silvery purple and it goes on really well!  I'll probably put a silver print on this tomorrow :-)

Flowers and striping tape

I had to play with this new colour some more ... so I busted out my new Konad plate (m73) and white stamping polish and went at it.  Then some silver striping tape for good measure :-)  I messed it up a little bit but ah well, that's life.

My first China Glaze - For Audrey

So I finally bought some China Glaze nail polish.  I read a bunch of reviews and everyone seems to be talking about this colour.  Now I can see why ... I love this colour.  It's a nice Tiffany blue/green.  It makes me pretty happy.  The true test for me will be in a couple of days when I see if this brand turns my nails yellow or not ... that's why I love OPI so much, doesn't make my nails yellow.

Okay fine, you can save me

Feeling the dark nail polish lately.  I love OPI's Nein! Nein! Nein! Okay Fine! .... first of all, the name is awesome ... second it's just a great unique polish.  A dark creamy grey with blue/grey undertones.  You can see how different it looks in different light, but I love it.

Plastic Wrap Manicure in Purple

I saw this technique on Pinterest and I couldn't resist trying it.  Basically you just ball up some plastic wrap, dip it in a little polish and go nuts.  I find it gives a bit of a marble look that I find really interesting.

Sparkle sparkle

Sparkles make me happy.  Getting them off makes me angry ... but I'll worry about that later :-)  Sally  Hansen has a great line of very sparkly polishes called Gem Crush.  That's what I used above.  Base coat is OPI Black Onyx and the top coat is something I'm trying called Poshe (I'm going to review it soon).  This manicure is a nice and easy way to make your nails look glamorous.  I put a little bit of the Gem Crush near the base of my nail and did that for every nail.  Then I took the brush, took most of the nail polish/sparkles off of it and brushed it over the bottom half of my nail.  That will give you the sparkle gradient you see.  Give it a try, it's fun.

A Total Stud

I was in the mood for a more edgy manicure ... and here it is ... and it's studded!  I used microbeads I bought at Michael's and put them on one by one with a toothpick.  Goodtimes  :-)  I love how it turned out, was totally worth it.

Red and Gold

I had some time to kill so I decided to update my German-icure manicure :-)  I grabbed some scotch tape and some gold shimmery polish ( I used OPI Glitzerland) and went at it.  To get the straight lines I used the scotch tape.  If you're going to use it make sure you take some of the stickiness out before you put it on your nail, otherwise it will ruin your base colour.  You can either stick it on your palm a couple of times, or what I decided to do which was stick it on my jeans once or twice.  I want to do this one again with different colours.  I like the red and gold but it reminds me a little of Christmas ... all in all not exactly a bad thing.
